I received my Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State University in 1997 and my Masters of Accountancy from Baylor University in 1998. After school, I worked at KPMG (formerly KPMG Peat Marwick) in Austin, Texas. Typically in such a large firm, one would specialize in a particular industry or type of return. I was fortunate to be in an office where I was able to work on a wide array of clients. The hours were long, but the knowledge I gained in those three years was beyond measure.
In 2001, I started working at Carpenter & Langford, PC, a regional accounting firm in Austin. I continued to increase my tax knowledge and quickly gained the respect of the partners. I was assigned a client base, ultimately becoming a senior manager. After celebrating my twelfth year with the firm, I decided I wanted more. With the encouragement of family and friends, I opened my own firm. I relocated to Sugar Land, believing it would provide a great opportunity for success.
I have the attention to detail that is expected of an accountant, but I can also step back to see the big picture. I am organized and proactive. I genuinely care for my clients. The highest compliment I can receive is a referral from a client.
